This Privacy Policy describes how Mollify family ("Mollify family", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Mollify mobile application and this website at mollifyfamily.com. By using the Mollify app, you agree to this policy and our Terms of Use (EULA).

1. Who we are

Mollify family operates the Mollify co-parenting app, which helps separated parents coordinate a shared calendar, messaging, and expenses. This policy covers the iOS and Android apps and the marketing website.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the Mollify app, we may collect:

  • Account information: email address, display name, and authentication identifiers when you sign up or sign in (including via Google, Facebook, or Apple, if you choose those options).
  • Household and profile data: invite or pairing codes, household membership, and how you appear on the shared calendar and in messages.
  • Children's names: first names you enter for children on your shared calendar. The Mollify app is intended for parents and guardians, not for children to use directly.
  • Calendar data: custody schedules, events, pickups, activities, and proposals or approvals between co-parents.
  • Messages: content you send in co-parent chat threads. Messages are retained as a shared record and cannot be deleted after sending.
  • Expenses: shared expense requests, amounts, splits, and related notes.
  • Support requests: information you submit through the in-app support form or by email.
  • Subscription data: purchase and entitlement status processed through Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat (we do not receive your full payment card details).
  • Usage analytics (app only): event data collected via PostHog to understand how features are used and to improve the product.
  • Technical data: device type, app version, and similar diagnostics needed to operate and secure the service.

3. How we use information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and sync the shared calendar, messaging, and expenses between linked co-parents
  • Authenticate you and keep your account secure
  • Process subscriptions and free trials
  • Respond to support requests
  • Improve reliability, fix bugs, and understand product usage (via PostHog in the app)
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. How we share information

Your co-parent sees calendar, message, and expense data you share within your linked household. We do not sell your personal information.

We use service providers that process data on our behalf, including:

  • Hosting and API infrastructure for storing and delivering your data
  • PostHog for in-app product analytics
  • RevenueCat for subscription management
  • Apple, Google, and Meta when you choose sign-in with Apple, Google, or Facebook
  • Email delivery (e.g. Resend) for transactional or support email

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Mollify family, our users, or others.

5. This website

The mollifyfamily.com marketing site does not use third-party advertising cookies or analytics scripts. It is intended to provide product information and legal pages only.

6. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Message history is kept as a permanent shared record between co-parents, as described in the app.

7. Security

We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including encrypted connections to our API. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. See our Security overview for more detail.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. If you are in the UK or EEA, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

10. Children

The Mollify app is not directed at children under 13. Parents enter children's first names for scheduling purposes. If you believe we have collected information from a child inappropriately, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the date below. Continued use of the Mollify app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
